Runway In Review: BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2013
I don't recall a time where the vibe of NYFW hasn't been set in the most appropriate form, simply due to one of the first shows. Held at the Lincoln Centre, the BCBG show contained many familiar faces, where Australia's own Jessica Hart was among the front rowers.
What could be noted of Max and Lubov Azria's past few seasons, is an ability to illustrate a structured yet angelic silhouette, however as we move into the Fall 2013 Ready to Wear collections, the term 'grunge' becomes more used than ever before, and I'm loving it. It's quite difficult to go past those ridiculously cute beanies used to accessorise and contrast against the hard nature of the leather, fur and patterned overload.
The power of layering also becomes a lot more dominant and envious with the combination of heavy leather pieces, paired with fantastic fur coats. With larger than life hoods, oversized pants, plenty of shifts and tunics, one could not go past those thigh high leather boots and ankle-cuff stilettos.
I've collated my favourite looks from the show here! I'm such a fan of that burgundy laser cut leather, and the combination of leather and leather in the final image!
